How to change Service Tag on Dell Computers

1. Boot from the asset tag floppy (Copy THIS file to a Floppy or Other Device and start this with MS DOS)

2. Type Asset /s xxxxx <enter> (where xxxxx is the Service-Tag number)

3. Type y <enter> may be asked to retype the service tag number in again. this can only be done once.

4. reboot to F2 and see if service tag has been entered.

If still having a problem the system board will most likely need to be replaced
